so i have had the F1 for several weeks.
been using it as EDC catch all for all my daily gear...along w/also trying to cram anything I can get to fit in current configuration i have found to be most useful for daily use.
hard daily use dragging to sawmill in SE/Ark every day...thrown on the ground / on the floor...carried in front seat of truck & goes everywhere I go...I'm intentionally hard on it
first 2 days of use the coating was peeling on bottom w/just my thumbnail scraping off...had I continued I'm confident i could completely flake off the entire thing w/just my thumb...it's aluminum so it's not gonna hurt to have exposed metal...but the coating is a mark against the frame
the strap / hook up system i'm not completely crazy about...you absolutely have to roll up excess strap or it will slip...or strap at angles that will bind the strap better.
would really really like to be able to have access to frame...feels like missed opportunity / potential to only be able to use hook up points & not be able to put a zip tie or bungee around actual frame
other than just minor complaints the frame is stellar & has far more untapped potential that what i have been using it for...looking forward to many kayak / backpacking trips as well as many more days as daily carry.
so here is a personal request to eberlestock...I affixed a old NIKE drawstring back pack w/grommet corners...when empty weighs nothing and lays flat against frame...but when zip tied to frame makes for an incredibly useful pouch...then w/the laser cut panel you can secure all bigger things...I can also reach over into pouch while driving or parked...reach into pouch & fish out anything I need w/out having to zip/unzip a anything
but a draw string type pouch made out of same kind of material as laser cut panel would be incredible...ability to un hook your panel pouch w/all your smaller items throw it on & go...
