The F5 Switchblade is extremely versatile and well built for EDC use. I count approximately 12 different materials used to assemble the pack, and all stitching is very uniform and neat. This is a testament to the comprehensive design process, all the way to quality assurance monitoring during manufacturing.
The firm & airy padding on the shoulder straps and back panel are great for use in the hot & humid climate of Singapore. During periods of high exertion in hot weather, sweat rarely makes contact with the pack's fabric. The mesh padding works very well in wicking away moisture, reducing the need to vigorously brush out stains during routine cleaning, thus reducing overall wear & tear on the pack.
I do like the minimal use of elastic materials on the pack, as they unavoidably tend to degrade and lose elasticity over time. (Based on the design & construction, I foresee the internal pack pockets will still remain functional even after the elastic has long degraded)
The internal compartments cater for a wide variety of items and should appeal to a broad range of users. What I currently carry in my pack: rain poncho, first aid kit, power bank & cables, Bluetooth earbuds, flashlight with spare battery, seatbelt cutter, a small roll of Gorilla brand adhesive tape, a water bottle, wet wipes, and a folded reusable grocery bag. The main compartment is kept free for ad hoc items like my laptop, work files, heavy items of shopping.
I think the pack is great value for money, carries very comfortably, and I'm looking forward to getting the accessory hip belt in gray when available.
Best backpack I have ever owned. Love it and will buy more
Quality is all I got to say.
Great fitting pack with all the right features and pockets. The only issue I have is that it was highly promoted as a gun down go-bag. The problem lies in the pocket where the foldable gun would go. It’s more made for a tablet because the pocket doesn’t go all the way to the bottom of the bag. Any barrel would wear a hole and most likely snag when pulling from the pocket. This pocket should be better reinforced or go to the bottom of the bag for what it is highly advertised to be and full use of this pocket. Otherwise it’s an awesome bag and I’ll just modify the pocket to suit my needs.
I have been using this pack now for over a month. I have carried for work in office and in field. Solid construction, quality stitching, and everything you expect from a premium priced pack.
