It is a little smaller than I thought. Still great 72 hour bag but no camel back pouch build into the back of the pack. Still would recommend to friends and family.
Eberlestock backpack is so fucking great!
This is my pack of choice when I won’t be hauling meat. The pouches and compartments are very well thought out to allow carrying odd shaped items while giving you fast access to what you need. It handles heavy weight well and is very comfortable. The quality of the pack is top notch, which has been my experience with all of my Eberlestock gear.
As always the half track is another piece of very well built equipment from the best company on the market. Thanks Eberlestock, I appreciate you.
One of my favorite backpacks I've ever purchased. The outdoor enthusiast in me is always watching for new products to enhanced my experience in the woods. I have like 15+ packs. My wife calls them my purses. Just less expensive as hers. Two of those packs are Eberlestock. Other than my LBT pack. Those two are the two I use. The half track is now packed for a excursion on the PA part of the AT. After doing a couple hikes to feel it out. Pretty sure about it. Great pack Love it!
Just what I expected, looking forward to using this bag
Purchased the Eberlestock Halftrack. Fits my personal theme for hiking and/or hunting. The equipment I use fit well with this Halftrack design. I was a bit skeptical at first and worried that it wouldn't work because it's an online purchase. Online purchases are hard to figure out the exact ergonomics without actually holding and having a feel of the item. Looked up Eberlestock videos for their Halftrack and it helped a lot. I'm happy with my purchase and excited to use it this coming new year (2023). This is a Christmas gift to myself & I love it!
I really like the durable construction on this pack and the thoughtful organization pockets available throughout, as well as all the MOLLE webbing options available on the exterior. I purchased this pack as a "Go Bag" for activations as part of a emergency communications unit for my Sherrif's COMMU section and was intrigued by the antenna ports in the top of the bag as well as the organization options. I thought I might be able to use this bag as a 3 Day pack because that is how it is advertised. Not so much the case, unfortunately.
The pack ends up being much smaller than one would think so there is really no room to store anything over and above the basics and even then there is not room for a full 3 days' set of clothes, 3 MRE's, a sleeping bag, pad, and basic toiletry kit. With there not even being enough room for those items, the "useful" features like antenna ports and organizer pockets are a moot point, since there is no room left for antenna gear.
If I was aware this item was more day-pack sized, this would probably be a 4 or 5 star review, however the price of $350 is pretty steep for a bag made overseas when there USA made options available that are comparable for $300 or less.
I love the backpack and hydration system combo
I have had the original half track since 2013 and people still say nice bag. Looks nearly brand new still. Just ordered the updated model and can’t wait to use it!
