I bought the V69 Destroyer originally from another vendor. What a mistake. He attempted to cheat and Ebay had to step in to get my money back two months later. I was frantic until it became obvious that you shipped direct. What a joy. You corrected an error in colour (yes, this is the correct spelling in Canada) I made and shipped it for $30 less than the original deal. It arrived the day before my grandson's birthday. Wonderful service and I am so grateful. This is his second Eberlestock and I am sure it won't be his last. We will be back
Just the right size for what I needed. Don't let the size intimidate you, with the adjustable shoulder strap system and great hip belt, what ever size load you put in the pack it feels so much lighter. Great great great pack, wish I would have had it while deployed to Afghanistan humping 100lbs up and down those mountains instead of the army issued ruck.
The Destroyer is an extremely durable pack with a number of great features. I had to return it because it is designed for someone larger than me, especially across the shoulders. I’m 5’10” 170 lbs, 21” across the shoulders, and 16” from the top of my iliac crests to the C7 vertebra. In order to adjust the pack for my body, the top of the pack sat too high above my head, which tended to pull me off balance. Also, the shoulder straps slipped off my shoulders when I leaned to the left or right. I include these dimensions as a reference for anyone of my size who may be considering the Destroyer.
I had an opportunity to test it under load on a strenuous 2-day backpacking trip before I decided that it was not suitable for me.
This is not the fault of the pack, just that it’s designed for a larger person.
I wish I could have kept it.
Great quality, great service.
