Context: I am close to 60, put on some COVID19 quarantine weight, haven't been exercising much, and have arthritis in the AC joint of my right shoulder. (The AC joint is that pointy bump near your arm).
First use: In the middle of a heat wave, I set out on a 7 mile hike, with some steep elevation gain. I had about 10 pounds in the pack--water, snacks, FAK, multi tool and a couple odd and ends.
The pack fit perfectly right out of the box. The only adjustment other than tightening the shoulder strap, was the sternum strap to get the weight a bit off my AC joint. This pack is so comfortable, and while it was a 100* heat index, the cushioning really created distance between my back and the back of the pack.
I love the size for hot weather hiking or EDC--it's perfect uses, IMHO. The internal organization provides so many options for stowing and retrieving gear. The build is spot on. I got the military green, and although it's green, it maybe has some gray? in it....it doesn't look like typical OD.
After the hike, my shoulder was totally fine. The straps are that good. The only other shoulder straps that I can tolerate are HPG.
The Bandit is simply fabulous. So happy with this purchase and highly recommend!
