The three (3) liter hydro is recommended, but doesn't fit into the slot (then it's just in the way) and the camelback 100 oz (short) is better suited. Any and all packs with removable (metal) rods are a mystery, because not sure if too many folks want to be out in the bush while it's lightning with those in (having that rolling around in the back of the mind), which brings up the point that once those things are removed, the pack folds in on itself and digs into the back real polite like - all the while the back harness is solely reliant on the ^-velcro which also is a headache to adjust for proper fitting. Straps, draw-strings, clips, fasteners, and zippers are all quite the adventure in-and-of themselves, and good luck in the dark or while its pouring down. There are better (waterproof) packs on the market and those that know, know, one is only as good as their gear and that every minor to major detail is crucial for success.
