Great product, it could use a few external pockets for easier access while packing in/out, or pockets on the strap of the f1 mainframe
I do a lot of baiting for bears, I use the mainframe for this. On a recent invite to go on a backpacking hunt In California I purchased the vapor 5000. The pack zipped right on to the mainframe. Worked perfectly for what I was doing . Plenty of room to fit all the things I needed for my backcountry trip.
My only complaint is the hydration pack setup it could have a seperate pouch built in just for the hydration pack
Is one of the nicest pack ever had packed out five elk meat and heads haven’t had any problems with it put a shoulder and hand quarter at the same time it Will handle it if you can
As for now I have only load it the system with a 35 and a 45 pound plate as I am getting ready for an elk hunt. It feels great very comfortable I am looking forward to outing this system to its limits on my upcoming elk hunt.
Not going to lie here--After the first two hunts using this pack with the F1 mainframe I was disappointed. My pack felt sloppy and loose, especially so with my bow strapped to the back. With the hydration sleeve on the side and the mummy like shape of the bag, it was a feeling out process at first. But when I figured out how to properly pack the bag, my experience changed drastically. Also adding the proper accessories such as the "Buttbucket" which I had no idea was for a bow when originally looking thru the website. Why not call it a "Bowbucket" so it's clear what it is? Anyways the moment my mind changed for good on this pack was when I had to haul out meat. It was so damn easy. Since I dialed in how to properly disperse weight in this pack it's been a dream.
Just returned from a 10 day solo backpacking elk hunt. The vapor 5000 was the perfect size and weight for my trip. The addition of a pair of bat wings made going to day pack super easy. Thanks for a great product.
Bought the Vapor 5000 for a three day backcountry hunting trip in Wyoming. The pack has a ton of space, ran it on an F1 main frame with a rifle scabbard and lid and was able to zip it to the mainframe with plenty of room for rifle to fit in scabbard. Contents included I one person, backpacking tent, four days worth of food, rain gear, kill kit and three liters of water. Fit everything easily with room to spare due to roll top. I did have to buy extra straps in order to tightly secure the lid to the pack or the lid it bounced around or slide to the side of the pack. Dropped the vapor 5000 and used the lid as a day Pack… I will likely also purchase the vapor 2500 along with batwings to give me a little bit more diversity
A finely engineered piece of equipment. Durable zippers, easy access from the front. Plenty of straps for my gear to stay snug. I didn’t realize a pack could boost my confidence in the back country like it has. 5 stars for sure.
I just received my Vapor 7500 to go along with an F1 frame; the design is incredible and the quality construction is sure to provide great service. This pack is light and tough, with a ton of readily accessible pack space. I can’t wait to use it on my next trip.
