Good option if you need something between a rucksack and an assault pack that is carry-on friendly

I recently took my new HiSpeed II on a field exercise in the mountains. This pack was used as an alternative to my FILBE rucksack since we had to pack light for 4 days up on the mountain. I was able to pack the following: sleeping bag, bivvy sack, warming layers, 3 pairs of socks, skivvie shirt, hygiene kit, Jetboil, canteen, Grayl, pogie bait for the 4 days, medical supplies (with the attachable, tear-away, large med pouch), small survival tools and electronics (with the small general purpose pouches x 2), portable charger, headlamp, note-taking gear in the accessory compartments. I had a separate supply of food transported using different means. Here are the highlights.

Pros:
-The construction is solid and this pack withstood heavy packing weight and the elements
- The adjustable, elastic pockets on each side of the bag worked great for carrying larger water bottles
- The contoured shape and removable plastic internal plastic frame provided added comfort with carrying heavy loads
- The waist straps and padding also provided extra support
- Tactical color options
- The outside zippered compartments were spacious and easy to access
- The compression straps on the side helped carry extra gear such as an isomat
- This bag fit in almost all major airline overhead compartments except for the smaller commuter flights just as you would expect with a civilian hiking backpack

Cons:
- The fold-away shelf is useless. The flaps still get in the way when accessing the entire internal compartment when the shelf is not in use. Just make it one large compartment.
- Not enough MOLLE - attached accessories such as the pouches felt loose
- Attached accessories on the available MOLLE over the two accessory compartments caused the whole flap to open which was cumbersome when trying to quickly open/close the zipper to access gear. I would limit the range of the zippers so that the compartment doesn't fly open when weighed down by something attached to the MOLLE
- I would have liked to have more modular options to add a sustainment pouch that could be used to carry extra food/supplies but was designed to be sleek like this pack
- The tapered bottom makes it impossible to stand the bag up
- I didn't use the rain cover. The storage compartment for it in the bag is also a waste of space. Put more water-resistant materials in the construction or design a dry bag that goes with this pack
- MOLLE on the bottom of the pack which is not that useful. I would add additional compression straps on the bottom of the pack to attach a sleeping system/isomat with tarp

A year plus

I have had this bag for over a year now and have traveled all over the world with it. It is an amazing bag! It is comfortable and very durable. When I ordered the bag there were some issues with the fulfillment, but contact with customer service department was smooth and they helped out getting everything fixed. 10/10 experience!
