Designed as the quintessential sniper pack, the Phantom™ offers the ability to remove the bag and straps from the rifle scabbard, which can then be combined with the buttcover to make a drag bag with its dedicated drag loop. The Phantom is a front-loader with various sized pockets for organization and MOLLE inside and out for adding on any pouches you might need. Phantom Pack

The Phantom Pack is an outstanding pack, I have the original gunslinger from Eberlestock and wanted a slightly larger jump bag. The Phantom Pack has completely surprised my expectations. If you are even considering this pack I would highly recommend it.

Great gear bag for snipers. Awesome pocket layout compared to the Gunslinger II. The tripod pocket could be a little bigger. Fits the rifle perfectly.

Good sniper bag…

I’ve been using the Phantom for about a month now. Some of my immediate notes are as follows…

The tripod pocket is not quite long enough. With that being the case, there could be a cover, similar to the but stock cover, that would cover the top of the tripod.
The tripod retention is not sufficient, or I’m using it wrong. Wrapped around one leg the tripod almost slides all the way out.
Like my old Gunslinger II, the interior pouch could use about .5 in extension in width. My PVS 27’s in a pouch barely fit.
I do like the exterior pouches. The exterior is much simpler.
The bag seems well constructed and thought out. It’s similar to the Gunslinger II, but different in better ways.

I was expecting the sac itself to have shoulder strap, and there is no compatible strap available for retail sell either

So far so good!

Overall a Great Pack

There's a ton of great features and I almost feel awkward pointing out some issues, so please don't see these as really big problems. They're just some minor points that maybe the folks can look at with the next version? I haven't really had the opportunity to use the pack, so these are just initial observations.

A) no ability for a frame.
For the scabbard by itself, this isn't an issue at all, but the pack by itself is a little bit big to go without any type of stiffeners. I bought this to replace a GunFighter II . It was mostly interested in the ability to put my spotting scope tripod and rifle tripod in the side pockets. I really need to put the pack through the paces, before I take too strong of a stance on this, but as innovative as Eberlestock is, I am sure I'm missing something as to why it can't have a frame?

B) I think they could've cut down on a few more ounces of weight by using the micro Molle like they have on the current GF II--especially on the inside of the pack.
