I used the GunRunner for a week of hunting in some rough mountains. The pack was excellent. I was able to carry more gear than I expected to be able to.
The scabbard allows for quick rifle draws, but is very secure at the same time.
First piece of advice is to be mindful of how you pack the very deep pockets. Do not put frequently needed items at the bottom.
Second piece of advice is to secure the waist belt when walking in rough terrain. The pack performed best when all of the features are used.
I used the GunRunner pretty extensively, especially for only owning it for 2 weeks. I was pleased with how rugged it was and how it took the abuse and weather without any problems. I've had many other packs that ripped when treated rough. So far the Eberlestock has lived up to the cost & reputation.

I have had many day packs and tried every variation. I can say without a doubt this is the best day pack I have ever owned. The versatility of this pack is incredible. Whether you are using it for hunting or just an every day pack you will find that the variations and capabilities of this pack are endless. I highly highly recommend this to anyone!!!

Gun runner pack. Eberlestock backpack are the best pack out there.

I haven’t field tested it yet but have gone through it extensively and it is a superb pack. The quality is outstanding. My purpose is to carry my custom XP 100 with a 15” barrel and a full-size rifle scope. Like an AR 15 the grip gets hung up but it is in very secure. If the opening was 8” it would work perfect. It has plenty of room for my tripod, tac pad and sandbag plus everything needed for a day hunt. Great product.

Great pack to add to my J-34 & X-1 pack line. Did have to order a longer replacement waist belt. Haven't used the pack as yet; but plan to take it with me on an up coming Turkey Bezoar Ibex hunt.
