Perfect range bag for the serious shooter.
For someone who's front door sits at the top of 5 flights of stairs, a range day was always an act of compromise. I want to take everything, but how much do I want to carry up and down the stairs? For something like a three gun match there was no compromise. Range bag, pistol bag, rifle bag, shotgun bag, three ammo cans, and food and water. All down the stairs. I was half wore out before I ever left the house.
With the Upranger I've got it down to a single trip. I'm still tinkering with the layout of compartments and determining what needs to live in the bag. When I first received my Upranger I poured all my typical range gear into it and then found myself going to the spare parts draws looking for more stuff to fill it up. If you fill this up it will get heavy, but it carries very nicely. You can feel the heft walking up stairs but when using the waist belt correctly there is almost no load on your shoulders.
I love the customization compartments. having to dig and poke through a range bag has always been a source of frustration. Lay it down open it up and there you have it first order retrieve ability. Everything right there at your finger tips. Forgetting things at the range is a thing of the past.
One quick glance and you'll know everything is ready to go. The only thing I would add to this pack is a lifting handle on the bottom. I find myself frequently grabbing at the molle webbing to pull the pack out of truck beds or help lift it onto tables. The good news is with the molle webbing in place all it will take is a little arts and crafts time with some para-cord.
No more stickers or mud on the shoulder straps! Having the internal deciders is also pretty amazing for keeping my gear organized for easy access, no more emptying the whole pack to get that one thing. Great design and as always fantastic quality from Eberlestock!
