just what i was looking for. I think i'll buy another one.
This backpack is of such a high quality that I could not believe it. It fits nicely and as comfortable as modern hiking backpacks. It is AMAZING!
Little bit of shine to the green fabric but otherwise top notch. Wish the fabric were more like the MC on my other packs
I got this for extended hikes and hunting trips. Also, intend to use for travel. I love how it is modular and can adjust to whatever my needs are for that particular trip. Great job on the design, lots of storage and well thought out pack.
This is my second HiSpeed II. I purchased my first one in black as an airline carryon bag after my X2 pack proved to be a little too short for comfort on my 6'2" frame. Compared to frameless packs, the Hispeed is so comfortable that I decided to purchase a second in Dry Earth specifically for trail running and fast packing. Although a little heavier than traditional frameless trail running packs, I actually find it both cooler and more comfortable because of air circulation between my back and the pack's contact points. To boost storage capacity, I attached a multilid on the top using G hook straps purchased from Eberlestock. The resulting rig is proving to be a good balance between weight, carrying capacity, and comfort as I gradually build up to longer and longer runs this summer.
Recommendations: Please offer the multilid in black with black G hook straps as accessories so that I can add one to my black carryon bag. While I gave my X2 to a shorter friend, I do wish you offered a scaled up X2 for taller people. It is a great pack design.

This backpack is great for traveling and hiking. For traveling I removed the waist belt and it fit in the small regional jet luggage rack. It is long and you can easily fit a couple of days clothing and other essential items including your laptop. For hiking you can pack all you can carry for a few days as you can use the molle to attach what ever you can't place in the pack. Very well made and very durable.
I bought this pack for day hunts, and because it's a good size to be used as a carry-on bag for flights. Now I just need get a good deer stalk in so I can splash a little blood on it.
Not too big. Not too small. It is perfect. This bag holds everything! It is extremely well made and perfectly constructed. No need to look further.
The Good:
I love that all of the compartments are easily accessible. One of my biggest backpack pet peeves is any straps (compression, etc.) crossing over the path of a zipper - this bag has none of that. The internal shelf/divider is a very interesting and useful feature not seen on any bag that I am aware of. The molded slide-in frame sheet is super lightweight and removable. I also like the internal document/computer sleeve. With the bag packed out, it sits upright very well with little fuss. The harness system is super comfortable and very adjustable with being extra “strappy”. The overall look is fairly subdued without sacrificing the MOLLE/PALS flexibility. With the hip belt removed, it definitely drops some base weight and functions very well for EDC. Due to these features, it can be used for school, travel, hiking, etc - a HUGE plus.
The Bad:
Not much to say here - but, one thing I found strange was that there was no included strap management for the shoulder straps. Everything else came with velcro management but not the shoulder straps.
The “I Wish…”:
While I enjoy having fewer dedicated zipper mesh pockets, sleeves, and whatnot for specific items for the sake of simplicity, it would be nice to have just a few more on the inside of the access panels… Definitely not a deal breaker, but potentially an area for consideration.
The Conclusion:
Just as the name implies, this bag is definitely “hi-speed”. No fuss getting to your gear. It is at home in variety of scenarios - a pleasure to use daily. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
