Kite 2400 in Indigo Blue from Eberlestock Outlet was Great Find

Overall, I really liked this pack and in the cobalt blue color to use as a casual hiking and around town day pack without appearing military, hunter or prepper-like but having that level of quality construction. i.e., blue for strategic ambiguity.

Features I liked:
- The harness system is hands down awesome and comfortable, way more than needed for the real capacity this pack can fit. This was the primary criteria I used to evaluate packs from different manufacturers for this class of pack and Eberlestock is consistently best in class with the harness systems across all classes of packs.
- The narrow width and tall profile that distributes weight comfortably on the back and firmly within the sturdy heavyweight nylon construction and backing system. i.e, no sloshing or sliding around of contents.
- The integrated side pouches for easy access of water bottles, energy bars and maybe something a little heavier if the situation merits it.
- The tabs/loops for attaching to F1 Mainframe that I already have and potentially attaching other accessories with hookup kit straps
- Call in customer support is always fantastic. They consistently help to explain details that are not in or I could not find in the web pages including interoperability, integration or compatibility across product lines and accessories.

A few things I was critical about:
- The pack advertises Volume: 2,400 c.i. which roughly equates to 39L but the picture on the website shows a 20L dry bag which is also what I was able to fit neatly with a little extra headspace into the rolltop area (shown in picture included for reference). I am not seeing more than about 30L to 35L real functional capacity, but maybe it could squeak out 39L with rolltop fully unrolled.
- Given that the rolltop does not roll up with any integrated dry bag, I am not entirely sure what the practical benefit of the rolltop is given that the pack has very good zippered access from the back. It is not a huge pack in the first place that you would carry so much stuff that the top access is a real convenience beyond the zippered access from the back.

Given the great price I got from the outlet on the Kite 2400, this was a great deal for what will be my go-to pack for day-to-day use for carrying a change of clothes and rain gear, plus whatever I need for the specific outing. I studied the Kite line closely and in comparison to other Eberlestock packs, and deliberated on getting the Kite 4800 (the indigo blue was not available from outlet at discount price or I might have bought that). But, the 2400 size will work for day pack for me but is cutting it close on real capacity for going beyond one or two days. I already have the F1 Mainframe with options for larger payloads (vapor plus zip-in dry bags) and the integratability of this pack with the F1 was a great selling point for me.

Overall, you can't go wrong with Eberlestock! Great quality at reasonable prices and built for the mission. I am becoming a bigger fan with every purchase.

Great pack

Used this pack on a 36 mile adventure through Havasu falls and it worked out great. Hauled all my gear In, felt sturdy, well built. I even unloaded it and used as my day hiking pack when we were out exploring the waterfalls. I added a few of the Eberlestock pouches to the side and the double threat pouch for my water and was good to go.

Kite and F1 Mainframe

I purchased the kite and Mainframe. I really like both and think they’re top notch. Would definitely recommend both to anybody in the market for a nice daypack (Kite) and gear hauler (Mainframe).
