V2 vs V3
Extremely Versatile, Full-Format Load Hauler
Unveiled in March 2020, the V3 Model F4 Terminator Pack is the latest and lightest edition of the Terminator series. Unlike the V2 Model which had a set of aluminum stays as a frame, the V3 Terminator boasts an Intex II aluminum frame which runs all the way around the pack to offer maximum weight-carrying capability. The newest F4 Terminator is not only an excellent all-around rucksack but also allows you to stay organized with a numbed of zippered compartments. And with a tailored rain cover included in the zippered bottom pocket, you can easily keep your entire haul dry.

I just got mine today. A new V3. I transferred everything from my large issued rucksack into it and had more room left over than I have figured out how to use yet. Everything is easily accessible. No more digging to get to the things at the bottom of the pack. The way that it sits on the hips and rides on my shoulders makes it feel about half of the weight that I know is in it. And the attached rain cover is perfect. All in all, this is hands down one of the best purchases I have made in my career. I should have done it a long time ago.
I love this pack, it has so many compartments, hold 2 rifles, its absolutely amazing. Highest quality, extremely impressed.
Get one, if you can afford it.
I have the old version of this pack with the aluminum stays and I love it. It is super comfortable and can carry a ton of stuff. It works well as a mid size pack as well, as it compresses down and the fanny top pack comes off. There are so many pockets in it that my wife complains she can't find stuff. Because of that, however, this is a great pack to live out of on longer trips.
I do have one complaint, however: The back of the pack tends to bend into a convex curve when the compression straps are tightened, reducing wearing comfort and stability. I remedied this by adding one of their long gossamer frames (YES it fits perfectly even though it was told it would not work for this pack). I believe the new versions of the pack have fixed this issue by using a gossamer frame sheet instead of the aluminum stays.
I do have some thoughts if further updates are considered for this pack:
The small outside pockets on the panel openings stick out too much, especially the lower one - this is already a fairly deep pack and the pockets make it a bit too bulky which should not be the case unless everything is packed full;
The pass through on the side pockets for the compression straps is a nice touch and adds a lot of versatility, but the 1.5" straps are overkill and I don't believe work any better than a 1" strap would.
I would recommend a more versatile system of 3x 1" straps per side with movable buckles that can be affixed to loops on the side, the panel door (to reinforce the panel zippers when the main pockets are stuffed) and the rear pockets (to address the first issue). The end user can than decide where they want the buckles attached and move them as they see fit.
F4 Terminator Pack
I haven’t put this pack to use yet but it seems really durable. I love all the pockets and compression straps. There are so many options with this pack.
