The Skycrane II is one of Eberlestock's first and most modular designs, originally crafted to allow the elite operators of America's military more versatility in their mission-specific gear choices. The Skycrane II is a single system within the EMOD family that is comprised of two individual pieces, offering three different configurations. These two pieces include the Little Brother pack which makes up the center of the Skycrane system, as well as the Skycrane itself which acts as the foundation for the system. Each of these configurations may serve as the most optimal depending upon the mission at hand.

The first configuration is the Skycrane II system as it comes; featuring the Eberlestock Little Brother pack zipped into the Skycrane. This places the Little Brother at the center of the system where it acts as the primary storage piece. In this configuration the wearer is able to utilize 4,475 c.i. of capacity, while maintaining the ability to unzip the Little Brother. Unzipping the Little Brother now offers the choice between carrying the Little Brother alone, or the Skycrane alone.

With modularity being the primary characteristic, the Skycrane additionally features Eberlestock's removable Fanny Top lid, which can be worn by itself as a stand alone butt-pack for essential items. The Skycrane II system also features top and bottom zippers, which can be opened up to allow the insertion of a scabbard for weapon carry. Both the Little Brother and the Skycrane posses the option to accept a scabbard for weapon carry in any of the three configurations.

The Skycrane II additionally comes with a stowable rain fly, features ample external MOLLE webbing for the addition of pouches, and is supported with Eberlestock's Intex frame for ultra rugged load-hauling capabilities and unmatched durability.

Well the bag was purchased to substitute my camelbak BMF bag , needed something larger in capacity and equal if not better in quality and durability, definitely has tons of pockets/storage
I use my bag for backpacking and hunting/ I’m able to carry a lot of gear !!!!! Thanks to the massive use of molle webbing, I’m still exploring this bagpack and every time I go through it , I find a different pocket or strap or something I’m able to use to my advantage, would have loved if I came with a raincover included,

Sum bag

Being a sailor and fulltime liveaboard for 6 years , I sold my boat to venture from the salish seas in Canada and outbacks all the way home to Ireland and through north africa and more, I couldn't be happier , I trecked 55km along the beach to get last call on beer in morroco , essoaira to get 24 cans of cold brew and 4 bottles of rum before the liquor shops closed for ramadan, I'm happy to say this pack did just that and more. I've used it for work packing tools in and out of concrete jobs took it up mt.toubkal 4167 meters and still little to no wear and with ease...def best buy I made.
