The Mach 2 Tee honors Eberlestock founder Glen Eberle’s time flying the F-4 Phantom and the belief that has followed him from the cockpit to the backcountry: skill, preparation, and a little luck can carry you a long way. 

During his time as an Air Force fighter pilot, Glen spent several years flying the Phantom, in both the RF-4 reconnaissance variant and the F-4G Wild Weasel, during deployments to the Middle East, including combat missions over Iraq during the Gulf War. As one of the fastest fighter planes of its era, the Phantom’s two engines were capable of reaching Mach 2, while its heavy radar, long-range capability, and specialized systems were tailored to each mission. Or, as Glen would lovingly put it, a “rocket ship with wings”. 

Hand-drawn by Glen himself and emblazoned with his trademarked “Lots o’ Luck” philosophy, the Mach 2 Tee pays homage to his favorite airframe and what it means to be a true high performer and adventure seeker. As one of the few people alive who can say, “Yeah, I’ve gone Mach 2”, Glen embodies that spirit, and his experiences helped shape the outlook and ethos that define Eberlestock today.
