Exceptionally comfortable one we you adjust it properly. I love the modular setup. I interchange between the assault pack, the F1, vapor and bat wings. I have been using Eberlestock for several years now- 5 ? I think. They are durable and have never let me down. I carry extra buckles and straps but have only needed to rearrange load for heavier and larger distribution. I have used my packs in the mountains area vicinity of the USMC Mountain Warfare Center, Lake Leavett, Mojave Desert and Eastern Sierras and I personally think you can’t get better equipment anywhere

Way more space inside over standard issue gear, and hook and molle system inside to better organize gear, the way it opens also helps access whatever you need to grab

Good pack

Great setup not bad to set up except for the wings but once they are installed they hang on tight.
The setup works and loads very easy and the frame will really load the bags up with a heavy load if needed
And is very easy to carry with the padded straps I'm 76 years old now and have no trouble at all carrying the setup fully loaded. Wish I had found this 10 years ago. Great quality and build.

The bag didnt fit my needs, and so far its cost $30 to return, will not ever buy from Eberlestock again.

They can say whatever they want, this is NOT a standalone pack and never will be. I knew I made a mistake when it came rolled up in a small box. There is no pocket or pouch inside that you can slip a stiffener into and it won't make a huge difference since the rest of the pack is so floppy. The pocket in the back that you shove the shoulder straps into when using the frame is oddly shaped and sized. Since I am not going to eat the return shipping and 15% restocking fee, I will have to invest more into it and cut down a USMC Assault Pack stiffener (Eberlestock doesn't offer their own) to try and make it somewhat useful. Extremely disappointed and I won't be buying anymore product from them for duty use.

This pack is useless w/out the mod frame another couple hundred dollars the straps on this pack are super thin and uncomfortable i tried calling to find the rt pack but again mislead this is pack number 7 from Eberlestock 👎👎👎👎👎 you dont treat your customers rt. So done

So good, this is the second pack (different color) I have bought. Different colors different mission sets, both are now ready to go and I can swap them out in seconds.

Solid materials construction but has some issues. Two of the six side compression straps put direct lateral pressure into the main compartment zippers. There is no zipper under the sun, that can take this long term. This pack will break. Period. The extra light weight shoulder straps are functional and carry well, but there's no effectively loading this pack where you wouldn't 100% want some kind of minimalistic hip/waist belt at a minimum. You could rig your own but why? The pack basically doesn't function without the frame. Which is fine, but then you have a slew of extra attachment points that need to be addressed vs flopping around extra stuff/weight. The internal MOLLE is solid, but if used to secure critical items, lends to making the pack very "top loaded" and top heavy unless you have large bulky and heavy items to fill the lower half of the pack. Top loaded is an atrocious way to carry weight excluding a couple very specific use cases. I would like to see the back panel MOLLE go all the way down. The attachment zippers are strong and work well with the extensions. The main compartment quad zipper works well to access stuff in the lower part of the pack without releasing everything or dumping out the whole pack. The take away here is kind of "why". The only point of having this would be to put it with the frame, and if you're not bouncing between the assault pack and the med pack, then why do you need the extra modularity of a split system? Layering this with the ACR panel works, but why on earth would you opt for that over a dedicated weapon pack? If you don't have the expressed need of carrying equipment like large breaching tools or such, the Mission system really is an "Eh...". Its a quality system, barring a couple big shortfalls, but how many of us have any real need?

Plenty of molle to add as much onto it as you want. Great built pack love how modular it is

I use this daily for work, I'm loving it.

The absolute best equipment out there. This is single most versitle pack I’ver ever seen, owned, and used. It can be build up or down quickly and with ease to meet your needs.

I wanted a smaller pack then my Switchblade to wear with my plate carrier as this fit the role perfectly. It's light, simple, and the straps thin which is great for shouldering a rifle, but they don't cut into your shoulder. Can't think of anything I'd change about it.

A tad smaller than expected, but fits the necessities. Straps are comfy and is easy to attach to the frame. Only improvement I'd like would be a pocket at the top of the flap. Seems like there's some space there that is wasted and would help organizing quick-grab tools.

And during matches the suppression buckles get in the way so I had to tuck into the molle but will be adding a buckle to connect the 2 together while accessing the bag

I ordered the mission assault pack at the last minute before I was to take a trip. The pack was delivered two days after I placed the order and the pack is perfect for four days of clothes along with dock kit and extra shoes.

Its much smaller in person than the reviews and pictures show and for that I am glad. My normal 3 day pack size runs 40-50L. This has the ability to run from 20-70 with all kinds of addon bags beside, above and behind the main bag. It could be a perfect European travel pack for those travelling in the many countries where escalators and elevators dont exist or are well hidden.
With the zippers, straps, attachment points, and PALS webbing theres nothing this bag cant do.

I think of Eberlestock’s EMOD System as the Alien Gear Holsters of the “military” backpack world. They attempt to solve multiple problems but fails in execution. For now I’ll stick on strictly reviewing the Mission Assault Pack: Has good Cubic Volume on paper but when in use it quickly fills up and due to the importance of pockets, you may find yourself adding a few GP pouches due to the lack of usable pockets on the pack itself, which ends up taking up quite a bit of real estate in the pack. On the topic of pockets, I was extremely excited to utilize the interior lid pockets only for them to be tiny, I understand it’s for “sensitive items” but isn’t this supposed to be a “modular pack”? The lid pockets would’ve been a great home for wet weathers to live and be able to access from the side. I’d certainly would have expected more maximization of UNUSED real estate. Under heavier loads you’ll find the pack to sag even with a frame, which is a common theme across their ruck line, quite a disappointment that I wouldn’t be able to trust their equipment in a ruck configuration. Overall a bust. They have good intentions but are bad at executing them. Mystery Ranch is still the king of backpacks in this game.

The Assault Pack is great. It's extremely well-constructed, and includes a lot of the sorts of thoughtful details that come from extensive field testing. The zippers have wide fabric loops on them to make them easy to manipulate with gloves on, and are placed in ways to give you multiple sensible ways into the main compartment. The way it self compresses for stability is simple and easy to use, and the attachment options to the EMOD Frame, both when attaching to the frame directly, and when attaching over a Medic Pack are easy.

I've found myself reconfiguring what's attached to my Frame multiple times over the course of a month, and the Assault Pack is one of the nicest pieces of the kit to work with.

I have two minor nitpicks, but they're both more a matter of personal preference than they are problems with the bag itself. First, the integrated straps are extremely thin, which makes sense given that they're designed to be easily tucked away, and I know some people prefer the style, but I find them uncomfortable with my usual use-case when I'm not carrying the Frame. Second, there's a thin plastic sheet sewn into the back of the bag to provide just a hint of rigidity, but it's so thin that I feel like it doesn't do much, and would have preferred it either be exluded, or be heavier to provide more support. Neither of these are significant issues for my use of the bag, but I figured I'd mention them in case they matter to someone else.

Solid modular mission pack

The whole system with the frame is awesome, but mainly if you are carrying body armour. I would go with another option if I could do it again. That being said the whole modular system is amazing.
(Also, the mission straps are very thin...I understand why, but I wouldn't use the mission assault on its own. The frame, I think, is a must)

Great for everyday use. Paired with the mission lid it is great for on-the-line Acft MX.

Great bag, lots of room. I love how much it packs down as well. Bag is being used for unmanned systems support without the frame. Only things that would make it better would be a detachable sleeve for a laptop/tablet and a chest strap.

This backpack is great quality. I have about 40 pounds of gear loaded into it and it is super comfortable. No pinch points. The only change I would make is to add a chest strap on the built in straps. I really like the modularity of the pack with other components. I can’t wait to get more of the attachments and the frame.
