The G4 Operator is the ultimate scout/sniper pack. The scabbard folds into the bottom of the pack when not carrying a long gun, and the remaining space is an excellent load bay for things as diverse as laptops, satcom gear, mortar rounds, and PRC-117 class radios. System includes a GSTC Butt Cover for the scabbard, and a pull-out rain cover sized for the full pack. The G4 features two front-loading compartments, which can be use as a combined space if bulkier items are being carried. Other features include multiple exterior pockets, a removable LP1 Fanny-Top go bag, and the Intex II tubular aluminum frame.

I purchased this pack about 5 years ago based on different reviews that I had read and I will say that it was a solid purchase. I have taken it on an elk hunt, backpacking trips with my son, and on other general camping and range trips. The pack, in my opinion, is light for the features that it has. The main selling point for me was the internal rifle scabbard, which works great. I also love the elongated side pockets which are roomy enough for my tent poles and short ax. I also like all of the adjustments for the shoulder straps, belt and general straps to cinch down the load. My pack is a different pattern, sort of a digital pattern but very similar to a dark digital multicam look. I think it was offered before the multicam option for this pack. Anyway, I think it is the finest hunting backpack made and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
I bought the G4 Operator pack to use as a bugout bag, and I am thoroughly impressed so far. I ordered it in military green, not knowing that it was on backorder in that color. A representative called me the next day to explain that, and offered to switch the order over to dry earth so that I did not have to wait a month for it to ship. The bag itself is big enough to carry the majority of what I want to carry in it, and feels great on my back compared to many of the bags I've carried while I was in the army. Definitely worth the price.
I’m in the military and the issued mollie rucksack is absolute shit. especially for my MOS. Being a mortar in a line unit carrying the tube is 100% easier with the scabbard. Instead of the sling digging into my back I can put the baseplate on and sheath the tube so it’s up out of the way, plus extra volume for rounds, gear, aiming steaks etc. Plus it’s comfy. Seriously impressed with the bag.
It would be super nice if the G4 Operator G4MM rifle/pack didn't cost so much.
