This pack is premium class — from the design to the execution, to the materials to the aesthetics and functionality. I prefer it to any other packs that I’ve purchased.
I ordered the Switchblade to use for my work bag. It feels durable and can carry all of my stuff with ease. I’m in the Air Force and I work in a clinic for my job, this bag is great for military or civilian purposes. I’m looking forward to traveling with it.
As an enjoyer of ultralight backpacking, I knew my EDC needs were much different than my backpacking needs. This has just the right amount of compartmentalization to carry work, play and study materials in an orderly manner. This also fits both the perfect EDC volume (room for books, laptop and a jacket the main compartment) and concealed carry requirements. The backpack is also a fantastically manufactured product.
This pack is perfect for the days that you do not have the ability to carry on your person or need a full frame with you. Quality construction as with all eberlestock products and a well thought out back pack!
I spent a couple weeks deciding on an EDC pack. I went back and forth comparing the T3 assault pack, the MR gunfighter, and the Switchblade. I got a deal on a used gunfighter and picked it up. After a few trips with it, I found myself wishing it had more features. I had to use an insert to add pouches, holsters, etc. there was no way to keep the insert from slumping when it was loaded down. I’m not knocking MR, the gunfighter pack is very well made. Just didn’t match up with what I was needing, so much so I bought the switchblade. Eberlestock put a lot of time in developing this pack. It’s way more comfortable than the gunfighter, like night and day. Being able to keep a pistol in the stash spot without letting everyone know I’m packing is a huge plus. It’s got a soft material on the inside of the main flap and on the outside of the laptop dividers that Velcro pouches stick to, no more slumping insert. It’s easier to get in the lid pocket for keys, wallet, mags, than reaching down to an outside bottom pocket, or getting all the way in the pack for it. The lid pocket had a lot more room than I originally expected. Overall the Switchblade, hands down, is better for EDC. Not to mention 1/2 the cost. Very happy with it.
Great products, as always! The ability to open up the hydration system to clean / dry is huge!
This bag is my edc bag as a LEO and it carries all i need. Very well thouggt out and good storage. Used in a couple hikes and very comfy in 100+ degree weather. It will double as a hunting pack too. Nothing crazy but its a really nice pack.
LIke the advertising I've seen for Eberlestock Backpacks on social media, I purchased the F5 Switchblade and it definitely is feature rich! Lots of pockets to hold EVERYTHING I need. I use the Switchblade for EDC when I go to my engine shop to work and it will fit everything I need for the day. Only addition I will say is if that would be cool is if you guys made a lunch bag!
