Good bag for everyday use. Rigid tabs for the zippers are a nice feature as well as the general size of the pockets. One huge improvement could be made to the belt systems in how it tightens as well as loosens. There are two buckles which can be uncomfortable if your carrying load above the belt as it can rub against the extra buckle. Additionally, the belt lacks a retainment system for the excess belt, leaving a floppy tail.
This is a very early review. I am unsure why Eberlestock wants a review before I've really had a chance to use the product heavily, but here goes.
Overall, I really like the bag. I have heavily used Eberlestock products while deployed to the Middle East and deeply appreciate their quality, reliability, design, and features. This fanny pack seems to be in line with those same ideals that I have come to expect from Eberlestock. It is simple yet feature-rich enough to be useful without being obnoxious.
I gave this review four stars instead of five for a few reasons:
- The tourniquet elastic band in the main (non CCW) pocket is too tight to hold a CAT tourniquet without making it difficult to remove from the elastic band. It needs to be just a little looser to facilitate rapid deployment, as it was definitely a two-handed tug of war to get the thing out--and that was in calm, non fight or flight environment. It's not impossible, but it shouldn't be that hard--and I can only imagine trying to retrieve it in the midst of an epi-dump with most fine motor skills out the window. With that being said, perhaps it isn't an official TQ sleeve (and nowhere does it say on their website it's designed for the CAT TQ specifically). So I may be being a bit hard on Eberlestock. Still, a redesign of that feature or a way to adjust it with velcro (or to replace the elastic with velcro and a pull tab) would be worth considering for the future.
- I wish the corners were a bit more rounded for the CCW pouch compartment. Getting the zipper around the corner isn't as smooth as it potentially could be. Since this product is still new to me, I have yet to fully get my zipper configuration set the way I like, but I think I'll start by having each zipper on either side of the corner, so neither has to go around the 90 degree angle. Hopefully the zippers don't creep, i.e., gap, at the corner due to gravity and/or movement.
- It would be extremely helpful to have a small portion of the waistband incorporate elastic material to allow the pack strap to give and take during movement. I have incorporated this into my normal CCW holster rig, and the elastic panel has made it significantly more comfortable to wear, especially when bending over, squatting, flexing, etc. Even if the an elastic strap add-on were available--that would be fine too.
In terms of fit, I have a Springfield Hellcat Pro (no light or optic). I am using a Crossbreed Modular Holster (it's velcro-backed). It is a snug fit, and I don't have the space to create the draw angle I would prefer, as the zipper snags on the rear site if I cant the handgun upwards too much to allow for a more natural draw stroke. (NOTE: In the photo attached to this review, the gun is canted significantly. I've since had to readjust the holster so the gun is a bit closer to parallel with the ground because of the zipper snag issue just mentioned.) I also purchased a Crossbreed Modular Magazine Holster (also velcro backed), but I have yet to get it to fit inside the CCW pocket along with the handgun.
In hindsight, perhaps the larger pack would've been something to consider; however, I don't want a giant fanny pack. I want something small, something nondescript that is the furthest thing from "tacticool." This is not my primary carry method, but I needed a solid alternative when on-body carry truly wasn't feasible or in my best interest.
I love it. I give it to my son for his birthday. I want to purchase another one. The x large
But i'm looking for discount please
Great little fanny pack! It is my go to travel bag. Recently used it on the Cambrian patrol along with the terminator pack and it was awesome.
Love it! I do not use the bag for any handguns as my priorities is to use it as an EDC which works perfectly. But maybe in the future i’ll use it for it’s true purpose, in the meantime though it works great for daily usage.
Absolutely love this bando bag! I had a different brand which was great but this one allows me to still carry my small wallet, keys, lipgloss, 2 phones and my EDC without my bando bag looking like it’s bulging. Plenty off room, much more practical for a woman! I definitely recommend it & great quality too! Doesn’t scream tactile and blends easily so you don’t call attention to yourself!👍🏼
I’m a larger person. It fits me great. I love it.
