Swapped out the standard hip belt on the Team Elk to the Long Padded Hip Belt. Much more comfortable, and helps carry the weight way more than the standard. On my weekly Saturday 5 mile ruck with 50 lbs, it made a significant difference in how I felt. Just wish it came in Mountain to match the rest of the gear.
The long padded hip belt is perfect for us bigger guys! Most western outfitters to not make items for the big boy with energy to pursue big game in the mountains. Eberlestock came through for me. I have 60 miles of prep hiking with this belt on the tall F1 mainframe with Vapor 5000 and padded shoulder straps. Couldn’t be happier at this point. Hopefully, I’ll be packing out a black bear in a few months!
Gave three stars not on poor quality but poor description. Im 6-2 275 wear 42-44 waist pants. This belt is too large for me. It will not cinch down tight on me. Belt is about six inches wide It would require a really large man to wear this comfortable. The regular size belt fits me fine with room to spare. Don't assume if your waist is above 42 inches you need a larger belt try the standard one first. Like most Eberlestock products build quality looks good.
Let’s face it we are not as slim as we once were but don’t mind going there and doing the things. I have put some heavy loads on my pack and this longer hip pad as helped the comfort level of an inherently uncomfortable thing. Get one it will help you do the dang thang for sure!
Long Padded Hip Belt
Longer and paddier .
I added the long padded hip belt to my F1 Mainframe and it was easy to change out from the standard one that came with the F1. Definitely nice to have the extra padding and makes the pack even more comfortable.
The long padded hip belt is great! I dig the extra Moller webbing. It being taller and longer. The fit for a big guy, not over weight but big. It just make the frame feel more comfortable and sits on the hips better. My only gripe. Is that I wish it was able to be matched up color wise to my F1 main frame being in mountain like my mainframe and my recon bino harness are, because the standard hip belt that came with my F1 matches the rest of the camo color. But the belt is fantastic. The larger molle options allows me to carry more, and more comfortably which is great for bow hunting and packing in gear but meat out as well and having the tools I need and want to carry. Get it if ya need that little extra cushion for the pushing .
Recently returned from 8 day elk hunting trip and found this item to be worth every cent. The waist belt wraps completely around and provides excellent support and comfort. I typically wear waist size 40 and this waist belt as cinched down tight. Anybody with a slim waistline will not likely be able to use this item as intended.
It easily attached to my J34 pack in seconds and I highly recommend it.
I bought this belt by mistake, I was looking for the wide padded belt, but didn't realize there was a standard length available. That's more a knock on the website. The two lengths aren't both shown when you select the padded belt. I am a 38" waist and the belt won't cinch tight enough. It is well made, comfy, and a big improvement over the skinny belt, so I have ordered the standard length wide padded belt.
It would be great if the belt length and model were options when ordering the J1 pack in the first place, as I now have two extra belts I don't need.
