I bought this pack being that my last no name pack from walmart broke after 10 years. I spent the extra money and bought the Bandit because I liked my Eberlestock X2 pack so much and was impressed with the quality. The X2 was just a little large and heavy for my evening or morning hunts. I was thinking about downsizing to a waist style pack, but I carry my arrows in a non attached quiver and this wouldn't work for that. The pack is just big enough that I can carry my binos, range finder, several calls and scents, a novel, and an extra layer of clothing with hat and gloves all in the main compartment. In the top compartment I have a release in one of the pouches, backup release, crossbow cocking device, face paint, and keys. I really like the drink pouch on the side with the oversized webbing. I was able to use one of my three arrow quivers and lock the quiver into the webbing. If it doesn't fit you still have a strap you can lock it down with, but mine is double strapped in and rides nicely on the outside edge of the pack. I also like how the pack opens and will hang open with easy access to my gear which I usually set up on a nearby tree within an arms reach.
I am a huge guy at 6'2" 330lbs.....this pack fits with ease and has plenty of room to go. It also fits my 70 pound son when I cinch it down tight.
The only thing I would change would be to add another external pocket or pouch, which I did by buying two rangefinder pouches and adding them to the Molle. I would also camo the inside flap which hangs down while you sit in the tree with access to the gear. I simply hit mine with a fat sharpy and zig zagged some lines on it to help the brown color blend in a bit more.
I liked this bag so much I also bought two more...one for each son who just started archery hunting this year and needed gear.
* If I was hiking in for a full day's hunt and needed to take lunch or more gear I would bump up to the X2. The X2 is way heavier, but have room for everything you can imagine.
It is a very wonderful backpack that can be used without waste with the minimum necessary capacity!
Even better if you have a separate coyote brown hip belt!
Great pack very well made
Granted I didn’t fully read the description and look at the actual dimensions, but the photos were deceiving in size. I’ve sent it back for an exchange. The quality, fit and finishes were superb though!
It’s the perfect size for what I’m looking for! Fits everything I need for the day or a hunt!
Bought 2 for Christmas presents, the pack is great, over built. Bought one for my son who is a Police officer and 1 for my Grandson who is going to be a fireman., be great to carry to Deer stand in TX too or a day hike.
I bought the Bandit to hold my 24 hour supplies. I carry a small ration of food, small bivvy, lights, jacket, woobie, poncho, and first aid. Everything is held tightly and compactly. Eberlock make the best gear!
I like this little pack. Unlike other similar sized packs, this is solid rather than flimsy feeling. It has useful organization that is often lacking in small packs.
There are some things I think could be better. These are design issues, not quality of build issues. 1) Get rid of the "sleeve" for a belt to make room for a concealed carry pocket. 2) Switch out the molle back panel for an external pocket with some organization. (It could be molle-backed.) 3) With the storage organization moved to the external "flap pocket", replace the 2 smaller pouches inside with a second larger pouch as is found on the opposite inside now.
Perfect day pack with plenty of storage.Plenty of options.
Bought this backpack as a work back/travel bag and it’s perfect. Fits a small service pro and some extra goodies. Seems like a rugged backpack that will handle anything you throw at it.
