Day go bag/ assault pack with much better functionality no matter what the day may bring.

I have searched far and wide over the last few years to find a backpack that fits all of my needs. From "assault" packs to slings to dedicated EDC packs, I've tried them all. A coworker recommended Eberlestock and I started doing my research. YouTube reviews, articles and the like were a daily task of mine to see if this would be worth it. I was honestly sold after the short 2 min clip in the Switchblade's description. I ordered it and I haven't been happier. This is a beautiful backpack that holds weight incredibly well. The pockets INSIDE the pack are amazing. I can pack everything I need in this bag and it doesn't look all lumpy or distorted. I will definitely be purchasing another bag in the future.

I replaced my Camel Bak HAWG (the original version, great bag also!) which I had for 10 years and traveled everywhere with. My issue with that bag is it was just shy of having enough space in the main compartment when I went on trips. The Eberlestock Switchblade is a great bag for EDC, I use it daily to bring my personal items to work, perfect amount of space. I don’t have any major complaints but it would be a 5 star bag if it had some extra internal storage pockets for smaller storage items such as headphones, medication, ect. and a key strap or snap hook for my keys (I added my own key strap). There are extra medium sized pockets in the top storage compartment but their access and position is not ideal in my opinion, elastic pockets would be great instead so items wouldn't fall out of them would have been a solid addition. The top of the main compartment folds over nicely for access from the top, locking zippers would be a good addition as well to prevent the bag from opening more than necessary. The front and both sides of the exterior of the bag have medium/large flat pockets which I have not found a lot of use for as of yet. I do use the front document storage but it does not conveniently fit a full size document, I had to bend and fold my documents to fit them. I do like that the main compartment does fully open, it’s a nice feature but more control over how much it opens would be good. None of these issues would prevent me from purchasing the bag again.

There are a few things I would change: I’m a firm believer that all vertical zips should zip down to close. I wish it was water resistant, I’m going to treat it with something because carrying a rain fly sucks. The CCW pocket could use loops field or something inside to secure a holster, I’m not about to carry a loaded handgun raw dog. I wish the dividers inside were zip in/out. Everything else is very well thought out and the build quality reflects the price. I really like that you can carry a ton of water. Lots of useful pockets, great use of space. Comfortable to wear.

As someone who takes a long time to make a decision on what to get I kept coming back to this bag. I’m glad I did! Been on a few trips with it now and the bag has held up great and the different pockets have made organizing easier along with getting with being able to find what I need more quickly. Would definitely recommend to anyone

I can’t ask for more, this is my third eberlestock pack. My first one was the fac track that I use as my one day hiking treks, then I got the renegade which I used everyday this winter as my daypack for work since I can stuff it with some extras in case I need more clothing or my rain gear while working and now that I’m carrying less stuff I found the switchblade perfect since it is a little more compact and very comfortable even when I’m biking to work…. I don’t use the ccw compartment but still it’s a fantastic pack as it is. That being said I plan to upgrade it with the hip belt and two side pouches in case I want to use it for some day trips or some walks in the hills….. as expected the quality is remarkable as always and for sure eberlestock had me secure as customer even for the future
