Designed as the quintessential sniper pack, the G3 Phantom™ offers the ability to remove the bag and straps from the rifle scabbard, which can then be combined with the buttcover to make a drag bag with its dedicated drag loop. The Phantom is a front-loader with various sized pockets for organization and MOLLE inside and out for adding on any pouches you might need. Absolutely amazing system. I’ve never had a real pack system. I bought this for my position on the SWAT team. I’m currently using it through my Sniper Course at GPSTC. So far the pack is holding my rifle and all of my gear including a shadow tech tripod and 3 rear sand bags. The pack distributes the weight nice and evenly across my shoulders and back.

Well built bag

Purchased this for PRS based on reviews on hauling gear at matches & its great for the job. The flat open front & compartmentalization helps with arranging gear. There is room for everything including carrying the tripod. The detachable scabbard is good to dump spent brass of as a drag bag if it rains. One minor qualm is it could use a couple of zipped pouches inside, but its a minor issue as there is no shortage of storage. Excellent quality & made in the US.

Quality is great, pack is great, gun scabbard is the let-down

Just as the title says, the quality of this pack is evident. Stitching is strong and placed in all the right spots, and reinforcements are located in key locations as well. The pack is the perfect size to carry spotter, tripod, rangefinder, kestrel, ammo, shooting bags, and a tool / cleaning kit- a one bag range kit- awesome.

But...the gun scabbard is not nearly as good. First, the top cover is too small (width-wise) for a decent-sized rifle with a pistol grip and a large(r) scope- it simply doesn't fit over the rifle. Also, it isn't padded like the bottom section of the scabbard is, so in my case (27" barrel) the occular end of the scope sticks up from the bottom section, and is covered by an unpadded piece of nylon. Not great when it's on your back, but completely uncool if you lay the pack down in a truck bed or on rocky ground.

The execution fail on the scabbard cover means this pack is a firm "no" if you have a large rifle with a pistol grip, or anything with a barrel length >27"- your optic will be completely unprotected against bumps.

I'm keeping the pack but disappointed to have an otherwise great product fall short like this.
