I really like the versatility that the vapor provides. There are pros and cons to having to provide the structure (form) to the bag. Looking forward to loading it down this spring and really putting it to the test.
Have not had a chance to pack with it yet. Looking it over I can tell it’s very well built and super light weight for being a 5000 cubic inch pack. It’s a very simple pack which I love that about it as I hate a bunch of pockets on a pack that means you’re just gonna end up taking a bunch of crap you don’t need. I tend to be a minimalist when it comes to hunting this pack makes that even easier. Mine is paired to the F1 mainframe with bat wings in my opinion that’s all you need. I have a 4 day spring bear hunt planned with my oldest daughter so I can give it a true test and honest review after that
This is a great backpack, with space enough to carry those extra items for your family or to provide for a long trip.
The only backside I can find is that the surfaces don't have that many good entry points if you want to strap more things on top of it.
The Vapor 5000 is a light, spacious pack with plenty of room for all the essentials. The shelf also is very helpful in the hopeful event you are packing out a ton of meat.
Great size, well made, and lightweight
This pack does not have any small pockets, but that is kind of the point. The small bag that it comes packed in is perfect for helping to organize , and keep some of the smaller pack content from getting lost. The buckle and zipper system to integrate with the F1 is awesome, creating a nice sleeve between the frame and the pack (bottomless, dont loose stuff out of the bottom.) the zippers on the bag dont match up exactly with the frame but I guess it doesn't really matter (the zippers on the frame dont go up as high as the ones on the bag. Also the zipper hooks dont keep the zippers all the way up. They allow the zippers to peal open about 1.5”) I hike through alot of cataw and cactus, I am a little nervous that the softer stretchy material will get snagged and tear or create loop pulls in the fabric, so far I only have one small loop pull as seen in the picture. I do wish there was some molly webbing on the bottom of the pack to secure lighter items, there is some on tbe top but it is a little awkward because it seems if you strap anything to it, the zippers want to pull open more.
This is gonna be my every day bag with the F1 pack frame. I like being able to not have to put bloody carcass bags in the pack...strap them to the pack frame. Great weight...great day pack combo!
I have to say I'm not review person, but this was worth one. I have the mainframe and vapor5000 combo. Not only is it so practical, but it is built with quality. From stitching to material, it is phenomenal! And what a great idea and concept! I am a forever customer and that is hard to do. Everything fit perfect and actually was suprised how much room the vapor 5000 truly has. Knocked it out of the park ladies and gents, Frame and all! Very happy!
