The pants look and feel great. I am taking them to my tailor. They are super small around the ankles. Most hunters wear boots. It seems they should be belled a little, or something to go over a boot.
I was recently on a Utah elk hunt, first trip out with these pants. I noticed 3 others in my group all had Kuiu pants, and when we would get back to camp daily, I would be the only one pulling Velcro bits off my pants. We all were in the same terrain, was it just coincidence I was only guy running into these? I think it must be a fabric issue between the two brands. Other wise the pants were very comfortable and performed good. We had snow 2 of the 5 days, without rain gear, these pants did not let the snow settle on the fabric to thaw, I kept quite comfortable in the conditions. Now I’m off to the wet Pacific Northwest for deer and elk seasons, let’s see how they perform in a wet rain forest.
Gotta give these pants 5 stars. Fit and function are perfect. Lightweight and very breathable. Zippered pockets are a must for me, and placement is spot on. Great for early season archery here in Texas, especially with the zippered side vents. Hats off to the Eberlestock Team on the Mountain pattern, will make you dissappear!
Only cons: Would love to see these pants or future models with some reinforced knees and seat. Also, I wear a 30x30 pants size and went with the small. A little tight on the waist, no room for layering, but length was perfect. Some personalized sizing options would be great.
Comfortable and quiet
Used the pants during my Colorado archery elk hunt. They were great during the middle of the day. Nice comfortable and cool pant. Only 3 stars cause my zipper gets stuck when down and the venting zipper on my left pant leg rubbed against my knee while walking. I like the zippered pockets on the right thigh but I wish the same pockets were on the left thigh also. I am looking forward to using them during hot October archery whitetail hunts in Texas.
Wears well, sheds heat, blends in everywhere.
The pants are amazing and the material is so comfortable and perfect. Thinking of buying a few more in another colors.
Wore it on a solo backpacking hike in Colorado.
On one of the days, it started pouring rain for hours and hours. These pants kept me dry for the first 2-3 hours and even after soaked dried very quickly.
Love them to death.
I’m 6’1”, 180 lbs with a 34” waist. Size Large fit great. I was hesitant when the pants arrived because they felt a little heavy to be a warm weather pant. I just got done with a 1.5 mile walk through a hilly Iowa pasture at 86 degrees with 40 lbs on my back and these pants kept me cool the entire time. Was pleasantly surprised. These pants dry quickly, but the pockets do not. The material inside them are heavier and took almost 24 hours to air dry after washing. I can see putting a base layer under them and being comfortable through late October here in Iowa. I will be taking them on my archery elk hunt in September. Happy with my purchase!
Perfect fit have not had a chance to use them in the field yet.
Got extra large I’m 6 foot 230.
