The Kite 4800 looks versatile and well built, can't wait to try it out this coming week.
A great mix between light weight and heavy durable material. I use as ultra capacity travel luggage, it's own large lightweight hiking pack, and a super pack system I use combining it with the team elk pack, eber. Lid., lightweight duffel, kite 4800, gatekeeper straps, and 2 ach strap packs for 10,000 to 14,000 c.i. space that i want to test use for extended military, science, photography expeditions. Deep hunting excursions, carrying gear for disabled groups, and 4 to 6 person family gear hauls, hazmat, rescue missions, and wilderness survival living. 5 star pack the kite 4800. Maybe put some emod zippers by harness. That's it. The kite is an emod pack and can be torn down to be even more simple than it already is. I like my mystery ranch beartooth 80, the eber. Team elk pack alone, and my eberlestock super pack system for hunting. But now for all my travel trips I only use the kite 4800 or my Kota outdoor vitals. If you are a serious traveler you will know why for both of these. I also use the g4 operator from eber. Which is great. Though I still think the kite 4800 and the team elk packs are eberlestocks most under rated packs.
Really happy with the size and features of this bag. Great side pockets and deep main pocket. Seems very versatile for my purposes.
Awesome bag, puts all others to shame. I’ll never buy a pack that’s not eberlestock again
Reminds me of the pack we had in the marines, only this one is far better.
This is a great bag for long distance hiking as it is light and been nicely assorted with exterior hooks. Only thing I would change is the location of the water bladder hangers from the interior of the bag to either the exterior to side pouches or against the back in an exterior carry. I hope Amberly stuck remakes the bag and changes that one small item. But even with that one small niggle it is a great bag and I would still purchase it again.
The side and top pockets make this pack a lightweight winner.
Bought this for an upcoming month long trip to Japan in June. It has more than enough room to store a weeks worth of clothes and then some. Apart from travel the bag can hold a fully loaded kit such as a plate carrier, belt, helmet, boots, and armament if need be.
This pack is surprisingly light weight!
