Good sturdy bags with a lot of room
I just returned to Pennsylvania today from Newfoundland after a successful moose hunt. I packed out a moose with the help of the guides from Pason's Pond Outfitter's. I unzipped the Vapor 2500 from the F1 Frame, secured a load of meat with the straps and then reattached the Vapor 2500 with additional buckles like I saw on Eberlestock's videos on YouTube. The guides were impressed with the manner in which the pack was removed so easily and then reattached with the load of meat onto the F1 Frame. A great purchase and investment for future hunts.
I used Batwings with a mainframe for extra storage on my last 3 day pack trip. Plenty of storage for a day hike.
Just the extra space you need to separate your gear for quick easy access.
The Batwings are just one of several Eberlestock purchases I've made recently in preparation for the upcoming season. I became a Eberlestock fan several years ago after buying the F1 frame for packing out shed antlers, and it has become one of my absolute favorite pieces of equipment. I admittedly haven't had a chance to use the Batwings yet, but I'm sure they will more than be up to the task. I opted for those and a Vapor 2500 pack over the Vapor 5000 because that combination just seems to offer more flexibility over a wider range of situations. In short, I have used a couple of other reputable brands and there's no question in my mind that Eberlestock offers the most well thought out and toughest gear for the dedicated sportsperson.
Bat wings are great the only thing I think that would make them better is a more secure way to fasten them to the sides of the vapor pack as side pouches.
Batwing
Excellent piece to a well thought pack system
Batwings are a super cool addition to my F1 frame, and it works perfectly as a case/cover for my 80mm spotter.
