Perfect size for day hiking trips. Plenty room for rain gear, dry socks, food, and collapsible camp stove for making coffee. Love it.
Only wish it had an EDC spot for off body carry.
I took this the first time for a trial run to a LARGE destination theme park Disneyworld for a whole week. Everyday it was off/on/opened and closed repeatedly! tossed around alot and survived water rides. I kept it full of snacks drinks med kit and assorted items but overall a light load. The pack wore great on the body, comfortable and light, material was durable with all straps buckles and zippers held up great. The internal compartments were perfect for what I needed and the top compartment held exactly what I needed it to and was the just the right size. The issues I found (which if you only open it once or twice on a trail or leave it in a vehicle alot this wouldnt be such issue) but I kept running into problems getting access to the zippers. They're all in the back and a bit hard to get to and I kept opening the top compartment by accident. Secondly the exterior laser molle flap, having to keep unbuckeling to get the zipper down got a bit irritating overtime. Thirdly, the exterior flap which was implied to hold a jacket, was very open on the sides, and even the straps cinched down, my rain jacket must have fell out of on the pouch on the second day and was lost, I wished there was a small web of bungie cord across or inside to secure an item with confidence or the ability to remove the flap completely to story it on the bottom. Overall, I still would highly recommend this pack. The compactness and the quality really came through and that's what I was looking for! (I have another eberlestock pack at home and its held up great as well, buy with confidence)
I needed a good 'Get Home' day pack for my truck. The H31 fit this need perfectly. I carry a lot of supplies in my truck but if I had to walk home from work, for any number of reasons, I needed just enough to get me 12 miles to my home. The versatility, quality material and rugged design fit the bill. I highly recommend this pack.
