Extremely satisfied with this product!!! More than met my expectations!!!
I purchased this pack for a 7 day advanced long range rifle course in the high desert. I shot off this pack, ate out of it, carried 120 rounds each day and was just the right size to carry my optics, electronics, water and food. This is a great pack up to 3 days. I almost bought a bigger pack and am glad I didn't
With rifle my pack was 50 lbs. I am 6'2" and the pack carries well and fits on the hips. I was in some rough terrain and opted to stow my rifle butt-first to protect the optic and lower my CG and it worked fine and eventually carried it that way the rest of the course. I abused the pack and it still looks new. My rifle now resides in the pack loaded up and ready for grab and go. Great product.
Big enough for what you need without being so big that you talk yourself into carrying crap. It is a minimalist idea of a rifle pack.
This is an exceptional bag. Just big enough for a 3 day assault. I have an older version that separates the laptop pocket into two vertical pockets but the rest is all there. The only thing I don’t like is when the pack is on your back and all cinched down tight, it’s almost impossible to get your weapon out of the back scabbard.
I've owned the Lo-Drag for about 10 years. It's my one bag for all occasions. I've traveled the world with it. Hunting, camping, and a variety of weapons related missions. I will be giving the bag to my son soon and upgrading to the new model. There are a number of improvements to the new model including improvements in compartmentalization. The single bladder sleeve is a big improvement. Previous bladder sleeve was too narrow for most bladders and difficult to load.
The bag has been improved slightly to look less tactical. The minimalist molle is a good move. And there are more color options.
The bag is large enough for bail out if you have on the go water solution. The size is small and you will be challenged to configure your kit to fit in the bag. I see this as a good thing. Nobody should be on bail and not able to move quickly. You can easily load water, food, ammo and shelter/sleeping in this bag. My USGI therma-rest is strapped to the left side of the pack. My USGI bivy is strapped to the right side. You can also fit you jacket or other items into the scabbard with your rifle.
The bag is incredibly durable and has been thrown and rolled like a rock during it's entire life. The only thing that failed at the 10 year mark was the plastic on the cord pulls of the zippers. This wasn't a critical failure.
The bag is comfortable for long days. I am 6,2 and have a long torso so the bag runs slightly short shoulder to hip.
If you are a minimalist and want to move fast and light this is a perfect design and it doesn't absolutely scream military.
Also my tank of a 17" laptop fits into the scabbard very nicely with room to spare at the top for a rolled jacket.
Great bag for city, travel or jungle. Get a rain cover for sure.
Thank you Eberlestock, this bag has been a blessing for a long time and many adventures.
