I have been using for backcountry pleasure trips as well as missions different platforms, like the G4 operator, the sky crane and other smaller packs, including one pack without molle and an inconspicuous appearance for civilian use like a family day on the beach. Disadvantage: constant + time consuming back and forth shuffling of equipment between different bags and packs. After several trials with different products I now ended up with the M1 carrier plus the G1 Little Brother attached to it, which are small enough to function as EDC. The small size of this system allows easy in-cabin use on helos, or alternatively take it on a bike ride. This M1+G1 system also allows easily to carry a rifle of any size (with a folding stock any standard AR platform even would be almost invisible). For civilian use I simply use a tailor made blue rain cover with zippers, which perfectly hides the molle and gives the M1+G1 system an inconspicuous appearance of regular weekend hikers. On multi-day missions the M1+G1 system allows easy and rapid additions like e.g. the batwing pouches, which increases capacity as needed. I have different pouches with individualized contents depending on the professional need, which can be attached to the M1+G1 system within seconds. Regarding the comfort of the M1: guys with back injuries like me appreciate the perfect anatomic fit and the painless carry of light and heavy equipment. If you have back issues, give the M1 a shot, it ain't get better than that. Congratulations to the Eberlestock team for an outstanding product and thoughtful attention to details like e.g. shoulder strap thickness fit for snipers/hunters, high quality seams that don't tear up even after demanding physical (ab)use.
