The Vapor 5000 is the most versatile of 3 size options of the Eberlestock Ultralight Vapor Series. The V50 is a F1 Mainframe or M1 Carrier frame-compatible, minimalist, top or front-load, ultralight pack. Weighing in at just 2 lbs. with 5000 c.i. of capacity, the V50 will take you deep into the backcountry without weighing you down.

All members of the Vapor Series must be paired with one of the Eberlestock frame options and will do so using ultra-durable YKK zippers. The Vapor series also features 3 buckle sets on either side of the pack, allowing the pack to extend from and buckle to the F1 Mainframe, utilizing the Vapor itself to compress and securely haul game or additional gear.

External features include extended-depth stretchable pockets to retain drink bottles, spotting scopes, trip-pods, etc. The center front panel utilizes the same stretchable material to create a zippered pocket for items requiring frequent access. The V50 also features a roll-top, allowing for compact or extended use, lending to it's versatility as either a day or extended hunt pack.

Internal features maintain the Vapor Series' simplicity, with an elastic retained side wall pocket on either side of the pack, dual hydration bladder hangers, and a hydration hose port. The Vapor also comes neatly packaged in a mesh zipper pocket which can be used for gear organization inside of the Vapor after purchase.

Take it all

Got the V5000 to use on an M1. Selected this bag for a couple of reasons, chief among which are weight and access.
Secured to the M1 frame, the V5000 will hold it all. Clothing, food, and shelter for extended stays in the backcountry. The zippered access panel, as well as the roll top dry bag style top closure, means that it is quick and easy to get to your kit - without having a yard sale on the mountainside to get at the one thing that of course has found its way to the bottom of your ruck. The emod system is as good as it gets. And with this bag you can take it all. G

Vapor 5000

enough storage space to transport the equipment for several days. Exemplary workmanship and clever details (flexible front pocket). pleasantly light and yet quite hard-wearing.

Not up to expectations

I love the F1 mainframe and associated modular pack system, and have used batwing pouches in the past with a drybag in the middle for backpack hunts. I was optimistic of the vapor, but am disappointed. The roll top needs a way to attach to the top of the mainframe to prevent it from flopping around when the pack is not completely full. For me, this is a deal breaker. I'll return it and wait until batwing pouches come back in stock. Batwings with a drybag are the way to go.
