I have had difficulty finding the right one-sticking bag for my saddle hunting set up...a pack that sits up on my higher waist so stay away from my saddle, that can stow a one-stick's dimensions, as well as rattling antlers, a hydration pouch, and (with the Buttbucket) a bow, too. The aluminum frame on the Renegade and clever dimensions really enables all this function. Additionally it's got enough internal space for an extra layer or two, a kill kit, and all the bits and bobs that I would rather not get caught without. The bottom flap looks like it could carry a saddle platform quite easily, too. I've already taken it on a spring scouting session which included hanging cameras (carried by the Renegade) 10 feet up. I think I read Eberlestock is discontinuing the model which seems crazy to me. It's great.

I bought the hydration pack but it doesn’t seem to have a way to fit inside

I absolutely love the Renegade for saddle hunting. My sticks can be packed on the sides, platform on the back, and any meat can be hauled in the main compartment. I needed this after my Alice pack started to wear out and it’s unbelievable how nice this bag is.

Bought this for my son for Christmas, he is very happy with it.

Great materials and design. Looking forward to using the pack for many years to come.

I love this frame pack. It’s just the right size to use as a day pack or larger equipment carrier, depending on how much you stuff it and what Mille Electra you use. The frame and hip belt are dialed in perfectly.

I bought this pack for a hunting trip in Northern MO. I hiked over 20 miles in 4 days and hardly noticed the pack was even on my back. It works perfectly to hold all my saddle hunting gear and couldn’t be more pleased.

Bags a little smaller than I anticipated based off what I saw in the pictures (should’ve paid closer attention to the dimensions), but otherwise it’s great quality. The back and lumbar padding really feel great. Not like other bags with the outer layer of mesh that seems to tear easily and wear out before the break-in is done.
I really like that it can be top loaded or front loaded. Really makes it easier digging for items from the bottom of the bag.
I planned on using this mostly for saddle hunting but I don’t think it’s large enough to fit a saddle and platform if you plan on packing any meat out. If I find that not to be the case I’ll update the review but regardless it still works great for overnight or day hikes.

This backpack was the perfect gift for my son for Christmas. Excellent quality. And when I had questions about this product the customer service was outstanding.
