The Batwing is the most popular attachment within the EMOD system, Eberlestock's proprietary system of mostly-zippable packs, pouches, and accessories that are compatible with both the F1 Mainframe as well as the Carrier Frame, as well as a select class of standalone Eberlestock packs including the J34 Just One, Warhammer, and Skycrane II.

Most commonly used as a pair, batwings will zip to the ultra-durable YKK zippers found on any of the compatible packs, and then zip together in the middle. This allows the Batwings to be zipped apart and laid open for placing and securing meat or gear between them while they stay securely fixed to the frame.

The Batwing pouch is a minimalist design, with one internal elastic pocket and one smaller quick access pocket on the outside. There is a bladder hose port so that you can use the internal sleeve for a water bladder. The outside of the Batwing consist of a few rows of 10mm MOLLE webbing, while the back features traditional 25mm MOLLE webbing. The webbing back on the back of the Batwing allows F1 Mainframe compression straps to be looped through them when too short to go around the outside of the Batwing.

The Batwing pouch is most commonly paired with the F1 Mainframe for Ultralight day hunts, or the F1 Mainframe and one of the three sizes from the Vapor Series. Pairing the Batwing(s) with the Vapor pack allows you to haul the entire system to your desired camp location, and then downgrade to just the F1 Mainframe and Batwings for an extremely light, streamlined system for hunting out of camp.

Dimensions: 21" tall by 6" wide and 5" deep.

Love my modular set up!

I purchased the Mainframe Pack a couple months ago. Soon after, I bought 2 Batwings & the Multipack Accessory Pouch to complete my hunting pack set up. I've had it on multiple mountain grouse hunts & a 3 day Pronghorn hunt, all of which involved a lot of hiking, & its the best fitting, most comfortable, & most adaptable pack I've ever owned. Perfect for all my hunting & adventure needs.

Mountain Batwings

Great product, made well and very versatile. I actually use them with a different pack system with an external frame, but because of the Molle and that you can zip them together they work great. Perfect size for lightweight jackets, vests, etc., or increasing your pack capacity for longer or colder hunts. Would buy again if I lost these!

Batwing Pack

Hi there, for me packing light and hiking in are the way coastal black tail hunts typically go. The terrain is steep and when you final fill that tag, the batwing pack combined with the Eberlestock frame is the perfect combo. Two of the batwing packs provide enough space for the essentials with a couple extras along for the ride, and when packing out, it is easy and convenient to reconfigure the frame and pack to accommodate a whole animal packout without leaving anything behind for a second trip. Some inner pockets on the batwing would be nice so some of the small items like tags and knives don't get lost in the bottom. All in all though hardly anything to complain about. I am very happy with my purchase and will continue to use this pack and frame combo for years to come.

Keep up the good work at Eberlestock.

Thank you!

Mostly satisfied

I think maybe the design for attaching the batwimgs could be different. If the zipper was opposite so you zip down to attach instead of up then its would not pull apart so easily or put a retainer to keep the zipper from coming undone. Over all I like it but I'm critical and like to try and find some things to improve for next time.

Great pack add on issues with zippers

Awesome for the one day hunts like how you can pack the animal out with the frame without going and getting the tube frame saves a trip. Only issue are the zippers go up like a jacket would so the weight of the bag wants to unzip from the frame and in the middle where you connect the two. If the zippers went down this would not be an issue so you need the straps that come with the f1 mainframe.
