I purchased the Mainframe Pack a couple months ago. Soon after, I bought 2 Batwings & the Multipack Accessory Pouch to complete my hunting pack set up. I've had it on multiple mountain grouse hunts & a 3 day Pronghorn hunt, all of which involved a lot of hiking, & its the best fitting, most comfortable, & most adaptable pack I've ever owned. Perfect for all my hunting & adventure needs.
Great product, made well and very versatile. I actually use them with a different pack system with an external frame, but because of the Molle and that you can zip them together they work great. Perfect size for lightweight jackets, vests, etc., or increasing your pack capacity for longer or colder hunts. Would buy again if I lost these!
Hi there, for me packing light and hiking in are the way coastal black tail hunts typically go. The terrain is steep and when you final fill that tag, the batwing pack combined with the Eberlestock frame is the perfect combo. Two of the batwing packs provide enough space for the essentials with a couple extras along for the ride, and when packing out, it is easy and convenient to reconfigure the frame and pack to accommodate a whole animal packout without leaving anything behind for a second trip. Some inner pockets on the batwing would be nice so some of the small items like tags and knives don't get lost in the bottom. All in all though hardly anything to complain about. I am very happy with my purchase and will continue to use this pack and frame combo for years to come.
Keep up the good work at Eberlestock.
I think maybe the design for attaching the batwimgs could be different. If the zipper was opposite so you zip down to attach instead of up then its would not pull apart so easily or put a retainer to keep the zipper from coming undone. Over all I like it but I'm critical and like to try and find some things to improve for next time.
Awesome for the one day hunts like how you can pack the animal out with the frame without going and getting the tube frame saves a trip. Only issue are the zippers go up like a jacket would so the weight of the bag wants to unzip from the frame and in the middle where you connect the two. If the zippers went down this would not be an issue so you need the straps that come with the f1 mainframe.
