works perfect as my saddle hunting pack. my platform fits in the compression strap deal exactly how i wanted it to. just enough room for my gear and extra layer. super comfy and the 3 liter bladder is perfect for being out all day.
So far, I am satisfied with the Bandit. Storage and design are laid out well and the materials are of great quality.
I haven’t yet gotten to use the pack in the field but I have looked it over and filled it with basic gear and 2L water bag. Still have so much room for rain gear, a hammock and still have room to spare. Could easily use this as a weekend pack if you carry some bushcraft knowledge with you and use the pack for rain gear, water/food. Cant wait to get out this fall and see how far I can push a “day pack”.
I'm loving my Bandit backpack! Quality is outstanding! Just the right amount of room for day hiking or hunting. Well thought out pocket placement and I love the top compartment for quick access to often used items. Overall I couldn't be more satisfied!
I've had a Bandit pack for a couple of seasons, and find it to be a great day pack for hiking but primarily for backcountry flyfishing. It holds just enough, is easy to get into, has the ability to hold wading shoes on the outside, has plenty of lashing and attachment options, is narrow so it doesn't get in the way of your elbows or casting, and is light and comfortable. I just bought one for my wife - she tends to make do with things like packs, but has been eyeing and commenting on my Bandit for quite a while. I made a 1.5" webbing hip belt with a velcro patch, which helps keep the pack in place and gives me a place to hang a camera.
