Customers love our Eberlestock Gunslinger
Pack™. A little pack with a great big scabbard can do some
surprising things. Like carry a great big gun.
The GS05 has a framesheet, which gives
it a nice foundation for carrying weight, as well as a fully adjustable
shoulder harness. So you can really make it fit you. Among
its many features are #10 zippers, a high visibility interior, large
top-cover compartment, removable hip belt, drain holes and cleanout
zipper for the scabbard, clips to hold the scabbard tucked inside the
pack, a long front vertical strap with a Flex Chassis at its base, and a
nifty removable butt cover which lets you completely enclose your gun.
The butt cover is a good way to
protect your gun from the elements. It has a pull-out sleeve which
will go all of the way over the optics on a rifle. When
hunting in wet weather you can keep your rifle in the pack with the butt
cover on it, but leave the control clips undone. Then, if you need
your gun, you simply pull it from the pack, shed the butt cover, and you
have a clean gun in your hands. The butt cover uses the same
"control clips" that are used to keep things corralled in the scabbard on
the Eberlestock Gunslinger Pack™. To attach the cover, you simply point the
control clips upward and engage them into the matched buckles on the
cover. It works well and it's simple, which is just the way we like it.
You'll also notice copious amounts of
webbing attachments. After building our
military and law enforcement packs with these panels, we realized that
they would also be great for hunters. For attaching auxiliary
compartments for things like range finders or binoculars, you can use
the webbing matrix on the pack. (See our
Accessories
page for our high quality padded accessory compartments, or you can use any
PALS/MOLLE-style accessory).
If you're looking for a really nice
hunting daypack that can carry a gun or combinations of guns and fishing
rods in its scabbard, and carries a bow with its external compression
straps, this pack should serve you very well. Special Forces
snipers love this pack, and they can't be wrong!
